Mindfulness Workshop

Mindfulness and self-care are great practices to help us manage our anxiety and help us to make rational decisions during this time of uncertainty.

This Mindfulness Workshop, while being online due to COVID restrictions, will be experiential in its delivery. During the day the group will be guided through a sitting meditation, mindful yoga (very gentle and slow-moving), a body scan meditation and a lying down meditation. There will be a discussion on the science of Mindfulness and how it benefits but the main focus of this day is to immerse ourselves in the practice of Mindfulness.

Participants will be asked to journal throughout the day and will be encouraged to participate in a group discussion with the intention of developing further insights into our own motivations and actions.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

Mindfulness Training may not be considered suitable at this time for those affected with acute depression, active or recent substance misuse, alcohol or drug addiction (recommendation two years full sobriety for Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention), PTSD, Bi-polar, current or past psychosis, significant long-standing interpersonal difficulties, recent trauma or significant unresolved loss.

What our Students Say

"Blend of theory and experiential is very good, Role plays facilitated much learning, very supportive learning space; I was pleased to see exploration of broad scope of Lifespan Developmental theory with emphasis too on modern neuroscientific research. Facilitation of the group emotional process around these theoretical concepts was also very thorough"
