Dan studied with PCI College completing our certificate course and gaining qualifications of diploma, and BSc in Counselling & Psychotherapy. Dan has been a practicing counsellor/psychotherapist, in Dublin since 2016. He works from an integrative approach with a foundation in humanistic counselling/psychotherapy. Incorporating CBT, Solution-focused, and psychodynamic perspectives depending on the needs of the client. Dan held position of Psychotherapist with Pieta, for over 2 years working specifically in the areas of Suicide Intervention, Self - Harm and Bereavement, and is an accredited member of the Irish Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy.
His role as Academic Support Officer is to provide flexible programme support through various pathways, such as guidance and mentoring to Associate and new Lecturers, co-ordination and management of Student Development & Progression Officers. The role of SDPO is at the heart of the Care Team at PCI. A direct point of contact for both students and lecturers actively supporting the development of the therapist in training throughout their programme. and advocacy, marketing, and recruitment support. Dan is one of our faculty lecturers, lecturing on the Certificate and the BSc in Counselling & Psychotherapy. Dan also holds the position of Dublin Academic Team Leader and manages Student Concerns & Resolutions. The primary role of the Academic Team Leader is to provide academic and administrative leadership within the Dublin region. Duties include ensuring Lecturers provide a top-quality learning experience to students along with overseeing the delivery of your programme to the highest standard and within the expectations of the college as stated within college policies and procedures. Dan acts as the main point of contact and guidance on all informal/formal student concerns in line with college policies and procedures through the establishment of effective reporting channels. Initiates relevant mechanisms for investigation/response, which includes facilitating discussions on resolution within the framework of the college guidelines. Oversees all actions required to address concerns/complaints in line with the appropriate college policies and procedures.
